History
Mop.com was created by Zhe Tian, who went by the moniker "Mop". He stepped down from his administrative positions in 2002 following a series of large updates that were carried out on the website.{{Citation needed|date=January 2024}}
Originally created for the discussion of console games, the website expanded to cover PC games after receiving requests for it.
Mop has created several Chinese Internet slang, such as YY (yì yín (意淫), fantasizing), 233 (laughing out loud, Mop's 233rd emoji was a laughing emoji) and Orz (a bowing position), among others.{{Citation needed|date=January 2024}}
