Morgoth Macula {{IPAc-en|ˈ|m|ɔːr|ɡ|ɒ|θ}} is the informal name for a small dark region on the surface of Pluto,{{Cite web|last=Keeter|first=Bill|date=8 January 2016|title=Probing the Mysterious Glacial Flow on Pluto's Frozen 'Heart'|url=https://blogs.nasa.gov/pluto/2016/01/08/probing-the-mysterious-glacial-flow-on-plutos-frozen-heart/|access-date=12 February 2022|website=Pluto New Horizons|publisher=NASA}} southwest of the Norgay Montes and adjacent to Sputnik Planitia. It was discovered in 2015 by the spacecraft New Horizons and named after Morgoth, the primary antagonist in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium.
