Architecture
The building has two floors, the ground floor is occupied with shops, the mosque itself is in the first floor which makes it a so-called "hanging mosque".{{Cite Q|Q130469817|p=65}} The exterior of the mosque is white, except for the doorway which is built from brick painted red and black in the Delta Style.{{cite book |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=FSA_AQAAIAAJ&q=terbana%20mosque |title= Travelaid Guide to Egypt |author= Michael Haag |year=1981|publisher= Travelaid |isbn= 978-0-902743-14-4 }}{{cite book |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=e7bREAAAQBAJ |title=Alexandria: A Tapestry of Lives Intertwined in a Changing City |first= Edward |last=Forster |date=2 February 2024 |publisher=Namaskar Book}} The wooden door is below a pointed trefoil blind arch that is consists of and is surrounded by painted red and black brickwork that forms geometric motives.
The mosque's minaret is supported by two Corinthian capital antique columns.{{cite book |url=https://archive.org/details/EgyptDKEyewitnessTravelGuides_201705/mode/2up?q=faransa+ |title=Egypt ( DK Eyewitness Travel Guides)}}{{cite book |author=Dan Richardson, Daniel Jacobs |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=24XaOEuqGYEC |title=The Rough Guide to Cairo & the Pyramids |date=September 2011 |publisher=Penguin |isbn=9781405386371}}{{cite book |author=Eva Ambros |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=ftYY76uG2ooC |title=Egypt |publisher=Hunter Publishing |year=2001 |isbn=9783886181407}} The right capital incorporates a small face with a widely opened mouth.See this photo. The minaret's square socle above the columns leads to an octagonal section above it which is covered by a terrace. On top of it is a cylinder shaped section.
The rectangular prayer hall is separated by two rows of each four columns and covered by a decorated wooden ceiling. The mihrab is covered with ceramic tiles in North African style with floral motives.[https://www.arabcont.com/English/project-710 This page] shows a photo of the mihrab.
