Ecology
The slopes of Mount Ayanganna are covered in tall-canopy lower montane forest, up to about 1100 metres.{{cite journal|last1=Huber, Ghabarran & Funk|first1=O, G & V|title=Vegetation Map of Guyana|journal=Centre for the Study of BiologicalDiversity, University of Guyana|date=1995}} Above this elevation, there is a series of "steps" – relatively flat plateaus separated by steeper slopes. The poorly drained plateaus support low-canopy forest or terrestrial bromeliads. The slopes support medium-canopy high-montane forest. The amphibians and reptiles of Ayanganna have been surveyed.{{cite journal|last1=MacCulloch and Lathrop|title=Herpetofauna of Mount Ayanganna, Guyana|journal=Royal Ontario Museum Contributions in Science|publisher=Royal Ontario Museum|date=2009|volume=4|pages=1–35}}
