Although Fugen-dake is the highest peak of the mountain with a summit elevation of 1,231 m (4,038 ft 9 in), Honshaka, a peak located at the border of the two prefectures, is what is commonly referred to as Mount Shaka.
Overview
The mountain summit has a large flat top and the Emperor Keikō Monument. The south side of the summit is a vertical cliff that goes down all the way to the valley.
