"Move on Fast" is a song by Yoko Ono, originally released in 1972 on the album Approximately Infinite Universe, and on the B-side to the single "Now or Never".{{cite web|title=Yoko Ono, Plastic Ono Band, The – Now Or Never (Vinyl) at Discogs|url=http://www.discogs.com/Yoko-Ono-Plastic-Ono-Band-Now-Or-Never/release/2611250|work=Discogs|year=1973 |publisher=Zinc Media, Inc|accessdate=26 July 2011}} The song was later included on Ono's compilation album Onobox.{{cite web|title=Onobox by Yoko Ono @ ARTISTdirect.com - Shop, Listen, Download|url=http://www.artistdirect.com/nad/store/artist/album/0,,141648,00.html|work=Artistdirect|accessdate=26 July 2011}}

Composition

In contrast to the folksy Dylan-esque single "Now or Never" song that the song was originally released as a B-side to, "Move on Fast" is described by Yoko Ono as an "offbeat pop/rock sound", which also draws from bop, big band swing, and "razor-sharp feminist rock."{{cite web|title=ONO: Move On Fast is #1 in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart|url=http://imaginepeace.com/archives/13862|work=Imagine Peace|accessdate=26 July 2011|date=3 March 2011}} Ben Urish and Ken Bielen described the song as "a straight-ahead rocker that hits the ground running and never lets up."{{cite book|title=The Words and Music of John Lennon|page=44|year=2007|publisher=Praeger|isbn=978-0-275-99180-7|author1=Urish, B. |author2=Bielen, K. |name-list-style=amp }} They also praise John Lennon's guitar playing. John Lennon biographer Jon Wiener claimed that the song has a "furious rock beat."{{cite book|title=Come Together: John Lennon in His Time|author=Wiener, Jon|page=[https://archive.org/details/cometogetherjohn00jonw/page/260 260]|year=1984|publisher=University of Illinois Press|isbn=9780252061318|url-access=registration|url=https://archive.org/details/cometogetherjohn00jonw/page/260}} He described Ono's vocal as employing "a nervous, blank voice that qualifies as proto-New Wave."
