It is near the southern edge of Dungannon. Although the village's name is pronounced {{IPAc-en|m|ɔɪ|ˈ|ɡ|æ|ʃ|əl}} (moy-gashel), the trademark of the Irish linen named after it is pronounced {{IPAc-en|ˈ|m|ɔɪ|ɡ|ə|ʃ|əl}} (moy-ga-shell).Daniel Jones, Everyman's English Pronouncing Dictionary (Dent, Dutton: 13th ed., 1967), p. 320. People

In 2017, a spokesperson from the Moygashel Residents' Association was quoted as saying, "We are a Protestant village, he is part of the culture of the village.
