A municipality ({{langx|es|municipios}}) is one form of a country subdivision of Argentina. It is a city, town, or township, which is – below the department level – part of a province different from Buenos Aires Province. The provinces organize the municipalities in their territories according to their own municipal regime.{{cite web|url=http://bibliotecadigital.inap.es/Datos/Publicaciones_Periodicas/REALA/122/REVL_122_0236.PDF|title=Los Municipios y las Provincias en la Argentina en 1961|language=es|url-status=bot: unknown|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20141021012247/http://bibliotecadigital.inap.es/Datos/Publicaciones_Periodicas/REALA/122/REVL_122_0236.PDF|archivedate=2014-10-21}}
