Early life and career
He was born on 9 November 1959 in the Aktobe Region of Kazakhstan. In 1966, he went to the first grade of secondary school No. 1 in the town of Gvardeysk, Zhambyl region, and graduated in 1976. He entered the Soviet Army at age 21 and attended the Alma-Ata Higher All-Arms Command School in 1980. Kazakh Army
In 1994, he attended the Frunze Military Academy in Russia. High command
In March 2010, he was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces.
