Musical Sources

Musical Sources is a series of recordings of traditional music that was made for the International Music Council by the International Institute for Comparative Music Studies and Documentation (Berlin/Venice) and released on the Philips label. Most of these recordings were later reissued on the Auvidis label. The series was directed by Alain Daniélou. It was part of the larger UNESCO Collection series.[http://www.unesco.org/culture/ich/index.php?pg=00123 UNESCO Collection of Traditional Music of the World], accessed November 18, 2010.[https://web.archive.org/web/20110810181303/http://21citizen.co.uk/reshelp/findhelprestype/sound/wtmusic/imcnewsletter/imcnewsletter20.pdf "The UNESCO collection of traditional music"], Isobel Clouter, pp. 6-7, International Music Connection: Newsletter of the World and Traditional Music Section, British Library, #20, 2001.p. 26, Continuum encyclopedia of popular music of the world, vol. 1, ed.
