NGC 3003 is a nearly edge-on barred spiral galaxy in the constellation of Leo Minor, discovered by William Herschel on December 7, 1785.{{Cite web|url=https://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc30.htm#3003|title=New General Catalog Objects: NGC 3000 - 3049|website=cseligman.com}} It has an apparent visual magnitude of 11.78, at a distance of 19.5 Mpc from the Sun. It has a recessional velocity of 1474 km/s.
Supernova
One supernova has been observed in NGC 3003: SN 1961F (type{{nbsp}}II, mag. 13.1) was discovered by Paul Wild on 21 February 1961.{{cite web
