NGC 3550 is a lenticular galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major.[http://spider.seds.org/ngc/revngcic.cgi?NGC3550 spider.seds.org] It was discovered on April 11, 1785, by William Herschel.{{cite web|url=http://cseligman.com/text/atlas/ngc35a.htm#3550|title=New General Catalogue objects: NGC 3550 - 3599|author=Seligman, Courtney|website=cseligman.com|accessdate=2021-02-02}} It is one of the brightest galaxies of the Abell 1185 galaxy cluster.
