Namba ({{Langx|ja|難波}}, {{IPA|ja|namba|IPA}}) is a district in Chūō and Naniwa wards of Osaka, Japan. It is regarded as the center of Osaka's Minami (:ja:ミナミ, "South") region.{{cite book |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=jMylBmGjWkwC&dq=Minami+Osaka&pg=PA161|title=Minami |isbn=9781741040852 |access-date=2009-02-16|last1=Rowthorn |first1=Chris |year=2005 }} Its name came from a variation of Naniwa, the former name of Osaka. Namba hosts some of the city's main south-central railway terminals, as JR, Kintetsu, Nankai, Hanshin, and three Osaka Metro subway lines all have stations within this region.
