Nan Tharat, a cousin of Sourigna Vongsa, served as the governor of Sikhottabong.{{cite book|last=Stuart-Fox|first=Martin|title=History Dictionary of Laos|edition=3rd|publisher=Scarecrow Press, Inc.|isbn=978-0-8108-5624-0|page=299}} After the death of Sourigna Vongsa, Nan Tharat briefly usurped the throne from Tian Thala.
