Nantycaws or Nant-y-caws is a rural settlement in the community of Llangunnor, Carmarthenshire, Wales.
'Nant y caws' is Welsh for 'River of the cheese' and probably refers to the rich dairy farmland in the area.{{cite news|url=https://nation.cymru/culture/the-top-10-best-welsh-place-names-and-their-real-meanings/ |title=The top 10 best Welsh place names and their real meanings |work=Nation.Cymru |date=9 October 2022| access-date=15 June 2023}} The Welsh word for 'milk' has been used in other place names to refer to fertile land. Though plausibly 'Nant y caws' could refer to a cloudy stream, or one with an unpleasant smell.{{citation|last=Morgan|first=Richard|title=Place-Names of Carmarthenshire |page=138 |publisher=Welsh Academic Press |place=Cardiff |year=2022 |isbn=978-1-86057-1572}}
Nantycaws lies largely on the old A48 road to Carmarthen (5 miles away) which was replaced in the 1980s with a dual carriageway, running close to the village.
There is a petrol station and restaurant on the A48{{cite news|first=Rhys|last=Gregory| url=https://www.wales247.co.uk/transformed-nantycaws-filling-station-nears-completion |title='Transformed' Nantycaws Filling Station nears completion |work=Wales 247 |date=10 September 2020| access-date=15 June 2023}} and the Nant-y-caws Recycling Centre, located to the east of the village.
The Philadelphia Independent Chapel lies on the Llangynnor Road (old A48) and dates from 1809.{{cite web|url=https://welshchapels.wales/search/nprn/6546 |title=Philadelffia Welsh Independent Chapel (Philadelphia), Nantycaws (Philadelphia) |publisher=Welsh Religious Buildings Trust |access-date=15 June 2023}}
