Successful performers are awarded with gold, silver or bronze awards, with other awards, such as the Governor General's Award of Excellence, being available to entrants in particular categories.{{cite web |url=http://www.barbados.gov.bb/culture.htm |title=Culture |work=Government of Barbados |accessdate=October 22, 2006 |url-status=dead |archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20061005051017/http://www.barbados.gov.bb/culture.htm |archivedate=October 5, 2006}}{{cite web |url=https://www.barbadospocketguide.com/barbados-attractions/festivals/national-independence-festival-of-creative-arts-nifca.html |title=National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) |work=Barbados Pocket Guide |accessdate=19 April 2020}}
