Taxonomy

In 1991, Cernohorsky considered that the subgenus Nebularia does not form a well-defined group.Cernohorsky, W. O., 1991. The Mitridae of the World. Part 2. The Subfamily Mitrinae concluded and Subfamilies Imbricariinae and Cylindromitrinae. Monographs of Marine Mollusca. ISSN 0162-8321 Trophon Corp. Silver Spring, MD. Pages 1 to 164

In 2001, Thorsson and Salisbury used the tern Nebularia as a group (and not as a valid taxonomic name), for species related to the type species Mitra coronata.[http://internethawaiishellnews.org/IHSN/2001/0107fea.pdf Wesley M.
