Critical reception

The Times of India gave the film 1.5 stars out of 5 and wrote, "Every once in a while, there comes a film that makes you go 'Am I really seeing this?' and Netru Indru is that kind of film — a film so bad that it's good. It is unashamedly crass, exploitative and downright sexist".{{Cite news|url=https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/tamil/movie-reviews/netru-indru/movie-review/36963850.cms|title=Netru Indru Movie Review {1.5/5}: Critic Review of Netru Indru by Times of India|newspaper=The Times of India }}{{cite web | url=https://www.newindianexpress.com/entertainment/tamil/2014/jun/28/a-confusing-mix-of-sleaze-and-action-629752.html | title=A Confusing Mix of Sleaze and Action | access-date=4 January 2024 | archive-date=24 November 2023 | archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20231124185937/https://www.newindianexpress.com/entertainment/tamil/2014/jun/28/A-Confusing-Mix-of-Sleaze-and-Action-629752.html | url-status=live }}
