The Network increases collaboration between its members and advocates for the a higher percentage of funding to be given to local humanitarian organizations.

Activities

Following a pledge to improve localisation made at the Word Humanitarian Summit,{{Cite web|date=2016-05-27|title=World Humanitarian Summit: Philanthropy's presence and potential|url=https://www.alliancemagazine.org/blog/world-humanitarian-summit-philanthropys-presence-and-potential/|access-date=2021-12-29|website=Alliance magazine}} NEAR Network was launched in 2016 and incubated by Adeso with $50,000 funding from the Conrad N.
