Niels Otto Raasted

Niels Otto Raasted (Copenhagen, November 26, 1888 – December 31, 1966) was a Danish composer and organist at Copenhagen Cathedral. He was founder and leader of the Danish Bach Association from 1925-1945 and his choral works are strongly influenced by Bach, Reger and Renaissance music.

He studied at the Copenhagen Conservatory and with Max Reger in Leipzig.Musical opinion 1983 -Volume 107 Page 143 "The same may also be said of Niels Otto Raasted, a friend of Drischner, pupil of Reger and Karl Straube in Leipzig, who was Denmark's most gifted composer of organ music. Raasted, who was also organist of Copenhagen Cathedral, ..."
