Club career

During the 2021–22 indoor season he scored the winning goal in the championship final against HDM as Pinoké won its first national title. International career

He represented his country at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where he won the bronze medal. Wellen's wife Kim is the sister of NHL player Leon Draisaitl.
