History

=Architecture=

The Nivy Tower is part of a large modern business complex situated in Downtown Bratislava. The design of the landmark has been conceived by British architecture firm Benoy and Slovakian studio Siebert + Talaŝ who also worked on the design of the new Stanica Nivy quarter. The complex also consists of a five floor shopping mall, a modern market hall with a fresh market section and office building represented by the Nivy Tower itself. The quarter provides almost 75,000 m2 of retail spaces and around 30,000 m2 of office space. The international bus station is a major 20,000-capacity transport facility with constant passenger flow.{{cite web|url=https://www.saint-gobain-glass.com/calumen-gallery/projects/nivy-tower|title=Commercial Offices NIVY TOWER|work=saint-gobain-glass.com|publisher=Saint Gobain Glass|access-date=September 18, 2024}}

Throughout the execution of the building, emphasis was made on efficient use of energy and the accomplishment of the highest levels of sustainability benchmarks. The property was rated by the application of the building assessment system BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method).{{cite web|url=https://www.schrack-seconet.com/company/satisfied-customers-worldwide/reference-projects/reference-detail/nivy-tower-mall/|title=Nivy Tower & Mall Office and shopping complex|work=schrack-seconet.com|publisher=Schrack Seconet|access-date=September 18, 2024}}

The tower was built between 2017 and 2020. All the facades of the building are glass-made and the volumerty of the construction resembles the aspect of a peeled crystal.{{cite web|url=https://spectator.sme.sk/c/22173439/slovakia-has-the-new-tallest-building.html|title=Slovakia has a new tallest building|work=spectator.sme.sk|publisher=The Slovak Spectator|date=July 22, 2019|access-date=September 18, 2024}}{{cite web|url=https://bratislava.dnes24.sk/stanica-nivy-nova-autobusova-stanica-foto-video-343392|title=Boli sme sa pozrieť, ako to vyzerá na rozostavanej Stanici Nivy, FOTO + VIDEO|work=bratislava.dnes24.sk|publisher=DNES 24|language=sk|date=October 10, 2019|access-date=September 18, 2024}}
