Reception

The mixtape received generally positive reviews from critics. HeyReverb described Wayne's efforts as loose and limber, going on to say it’s “hilarious, absurd, outrageous and brilliant”.{{cite web |date=2 December 2015 |title=Lil Wayne is loose and limber on "No Ceilings 2" |url=http://www.heyreverb.com/blog/2015/12/02/lil-wayne-is-loose-and-limber-on-no-ceilings-2/110833/ |accessdate=7 December 2017 |website=Heyreverb.com}} Forbes commented "Despite Label Woes, Lil Wayne Remains The Mixtape Master".{{cite web|url=https://www.forbes.com/sites/garysuarez/2015/11/30/lil-wayne-no-ceilings-2/|title=Despite Label Woes, Lil Wayne Remains The Mixtape Master|first=Gary|last=Suarez|website=Forbes.com|accessdate=7 December 2017}}

NME gave the mixtape 4/5 and saying "This aint a stop-gap, it's a goddamn arms race. 'No Ceilings 2', Lil Wayne's newest free mixtape, is about more than suppressing fans’ appetites for the New Orleans rapper's much-delayed album 'Tha Carter V', of which there's still no sign. His third release this year, and sequel to 2009's 'No Ceilings', is a reminder of Wayne's prowess, as he outdoes rivals on their own tracks.{{cite web|url=https://www.nme.com/reviews/lil-wayne/16350|title=Lil Wayne - 'No Ceilings 2'|website=Nme.com|date=30 November 2015 |accessdate=7 December 2017}} Robert Christgau gave the album a 3-star honorable mention rating, which corresponds to "an enjoyable effort consumers attuned to its overriding aesthetic or individual vision may well treasure.".{{cite web | url=https://www.vice.com/en/article/expert-witness-kanye-west-pusha-t-travis-scott/ | title=G.O.O.D.
