"Non me lo so spiegare" (English: "I Can't Explain") is a song written and recorded by Italian singer Tiziano Ferro. It was released as the third single from his second studio album, 111. The music video for the song was directed by Paolo Monico.{{Cite web | url = http://www.adnkronos.com/Archivio/AdnAgenzia/2006/09/01/Spettacolo/Musica/MUSICA-PRONTO-IL-NUOVO-VIDEOCLIP-DI-TIZIANO-FERRO_155006.php | publisher = Adnkronos | date = 1 September 2006 | title = Musica: Pronto il nuovo videoclip di Tiziano Ferro | accessdate = 11 August 2012 | language = Italian}} The song was also translated in Spanish and recorded by Tiziano Ferro himself for the Hispanic version of the album, under the title "No me lo puedo explicar".{{Cite web | url = http://www.allmusic.com/album/111-ciento-once-mw0000322401 | publisher = Allmusic | accessdate = 12 August 2012 | title = 111 Ciento Once – Tiziano Ferro}}
In 2006, Ferro re-recorded the song as a duet with Italian singer Laura Pausini. This version of the song was included in Pausini's 2006 album Io canto and it was released as a single in March 2007.
Background and composition
During an interview released in November 2003, Ferro revealed that the song was initially written for his debut album, Rosso Relativo, but it was not featured on the record for various reasons: "We didn't know if the album would have sold well, therefore we kept the song for the Sanremo Music Festival. If things would have gone bad, 'Non me lo so spiegare' would have been my entry for Sanremo".{{Cite web | url = http://www.rockol.it/news-58108/Tiziano-Ferro,-il--bimbo-dentro--%C3%A8-cresciuto-e-parla-del-suo-nuovo-album- | publisher = Rockol.it | accessdate = 11 August 2012 | title = Tiziano Ferro, il 'bimbo dentro' è cresciuto e parla del suo nuovo album | date = 7 November 2003 | language = Italian}}
The song is a pop ballad,{{Cite web | url = http://www.netmusicitalia.it/recensioni/reccdferro2.html | publisher = Netmusicitalia.it | accessdate = 11 August 2012 | title = Tiziano Ferro – 111 (Centoundici) | author = Marco Marino | language = Italian}} described by Musica e dischi's Antonio Orlando as a "neoclassic Italian song".{{Cite web | url = http://www.musicaedischi.it/recensioni.php?genere=0&id=1554 | work = Musica e dischi | language = Italian | accessdate = 11 August 2012 | title = Tiziano Ferro – 111 – Recensione | author = Antonio Orlando | date = November 2003 | page = 40}} Orlando also compared "Non me lo so spiegare" to Claudio Baglioni's previous songs.

=Background=
During an interview, Pausini revealed that, before starting the recording sessions for her album Io canto, entirely composed of covers of popular songs by Italian male artists, she had decided not to record duets with Italian singers. "I was afraid to offend the artists I didn't call, I wanted to record duets with foreign artists only, so that they could give something new to these popular songs. But when I started recording Tiziano's song, there was something missing, therefore I thought it was the right chance to put our voices together".{{Cite web | url = http://www.rockol.it/news-85977/Pausini-e-Ferro-insieme-per-un-video,-e-Laura-risponde-a-Bersani | publisher = Rockol.it | accessdate = 12 August 2012 | title = Pausini e Ferro insieme per un video, e Laura risponde a Bersani | date = 26 March 2007 | language = Italian}}
