The northern New Guinea giant softshell turtle (Pelochelys signifera) is a species of turtle found in the lowlands of northern New Guinea.Webb, R.G. (2002). Observations on the Giant Softshell Turtle, Pelochelys cantorii, with description of a new species. Hamadryad 27 (1): 99-107. South of the Central Range it is replaced by the closely related southern New Guinea giant softshell turtle (P. bibroni).
