Norway was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song "{{lang|no|Ulveham|i=no}}" performed by {{lang|no|Gåte|i=no}}. The Norwegian participating broadcaster, {{lang|no|Norsk rikskringkasting|i=no}} (NRK), organised the national final Melodi Grand Prix 2024 between January and February 2024 in order to select its entry for the contest.
Background

Prior to the 2024 contest, {{lang|no|Norsk rikskringkasting|i=no}} (NRK) had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest representing Norway sixty-two times since its first entry in {{ESCYr|1960}}.{{cite web|url=https://eurovision.tv/country/norway|title=Norway|work=Eurovision.tv|publisher=European Broadcasting Union (EBU)|access-date=2023-08-09}} It had won the contest on three occasions: in {{ESCYr|1985}} with the song "{{lang|no|La det swinge|i=no}}" performed by Bobbysocks!, in {{ESCYr|1995}} with the song "{{lang|no|Nocturne|i=no}}" performed by Secret Garden and in {{ESCYr|2009}} with the song "Fairytale" performed by Alexander Rybak. Norway also had the two dubious distinctions of having finished last in the Eurovision final eleven times, more than any other country, and for having received {{lang|fr|nul points}} (zero points) four times, the latter being a record shared with {{esccnty|Austria}}. Following the introduction of semi-finals for {{Escyr|2004|2004 contest}}, it had finished in the top ten ten times. In {{escyr|2023}}, "Queen of Kings" performed by Alessandra qualified to the final and placed fifth, their best result in ten years.
As part of its duties as participating broadcaster, NRK organises the selection of its entry in the Eurovision Song Contest and broadcasts the event in the country. {{lang|no|Melodi Grand Prix}} 2024 was the 62nd edition of the Norwegian national final {{lang|no|Melodi Grand Prix|i=no}} (MGP) which selected the Norwegian entry for the 2024 contest. At Eurovision
The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 took place at the Malmö Arena in Malmö, Sweden, and consists of two semi-finals held on the respective dates of 7 and 9 May and the final on 11 May 2024. All nations with the exceptions of the host country and the "Big Five" (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom) are required to qualify from one of two semi-finals in order to compete in the final; the top ten countries from each semi-final progress to the final. Each participating broadcaster assembles a five-member jury panel consisting of music industry professionals who are citizens of the country they represent. Each jury, and individual jury member, is required to meet a strict set of criteria regarding professional background, as well as diversity in gender and age.
