The Oden class was a class of coastal defence ships of the Swedish Navy. The class comprised Oden, Niord and Thor.
Design
=Dimensions and machinery=
The ships of the class had an overall length of {{convert|84.8|m|ftin|0}}, a beam of {{convert|14.78|m|ftin|0}}, and a draught of {{convert|5.28|m|ftin|0}}, and had a displaced {{convert|3445|LT|t}}.Campbell, p. 261 The ships were equipped with 2 shaft reciprocating engines, which were rated at {{convert|5350|ihp|lk=on}} and produced a top speed of {{convert|16.5|kn|lk=in}}.
=Armour=
The ships had belt armour of {{convert|9.5|in|cm|abbr=on}} and {{convert|8|in|cm|abbr=on}} turret armour.
=Armament=
The main armament of the ships where two {{convert|10|in|cm|abbr=on}} single turret guns. Secondary armament included six single {{convert|4.7|in|cm|abbr=on}} guns and ten {{convert|5.7|cm|in|abbr=on}} single guns.
Construction
- Oden was laid down in 1894 at the Bergsund At Finnboda shipyard and was launched in 1896. She was commissioned in 1898.
- Niord'' was laid down in 1900 at the Lindholmens shipyard and was launched in 1898. She was commissioned in 1899.
- Thor was laid down in 1896 also at the Bergsund At Finnboda shipyard and was launched in 1898. She was commissioned in 1899.
