Olympia Provisions Public House, formerly known as OP Wurst, was a public house in Portland, Oregon owned and operated by Olympia Provisions.

History

In 2016, Olympia Provisions opened a small bar-restaurant in Pine Street Market called OP Wurst.{{cite web|last1=McKay|first1=Gretchen|title=Portland is a pleasure|url=http://www.nwaonline.com/news/2017/mar/12/portland-is-a-pleasure-20170312/?features|website=Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette|date=12 March 2017 |accessdate=9 May 2021|archive-date=10 August 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170810211813/http://www.nwaonline.com/news/2017/mar/12/portland-is-a-pleasure-20170312/?features|url-status=live}} The restaurant served artisan frankfurters, sausages, and beer. Later that year, the company opened a second OP Wurst location in Oregon City at Oregon City Brewing.{{cite news |last1=Bamman |first1=Mattie John |title=Olympia Provisions' OP Wurst Now Open in Oregon City |url=https://pdx.eater.com/2016/10/13/13270002/op-wurst-oregon-city-olympia-provisions-brewery |access-date=9 May 2021 |publisher=Eater |date=October 13, 2016 |archive-date=3 June 2020 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200603141327/https://pdx.eater.com/2016/10/13/13270002/op-wurst-oregon-city-olympia-provisions-brewery |url-status=live }}

In March 2017, a third location opened on Division Street in Southeast Portland's Richmond neighborhood. The Division Street location was the first OP Wurst located in a stand-alone building.{{cite web|last1=Walsh|first1=Chad|title=Take a Look Inside OP Wurst's New Division Street Digs|url=http://pdx.eater.com/2017/3/9/14870610/take-a-look-inside-op-wurst-s-new-division-street-digs#1|website=Eater|date=9 March 2017 |accessdate=9 May 2021|archive-date=11 August 2017|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170811011758/https://pdx.eater.com/2017/3/9/14870610/take-a-look-inside-op-wurst-s-new-division-street-digs#1|url-status=live}} This third location was located in a building that formerly housed Honky Tonk Taco, an unrelated taco shop started by Olympia Provisions owners Tilden, Schwartz, and Gaston, that closed after being open for only three months.{{cite web|last1=Bamman|first1=Mattie John|title=OP Wurst to Slide into Honky Tonk Taco|url=https://pdx.eater.com/2016/12/30/14127056/op-wurst-se-division-honky-tonk-taco|website=Eater|date=30 December 2016 |accessdate=9 May 2021|archive-date=3 June 2020|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20200603060259/https://pdx.eater.com/2016/12/30/14127056/op-wurst-se-division-honky-tonk-taco|url-status=live}}{{cite web|last1=Bamman|first1=Mattie John|title=Honky Tonk Taco Closes After Less Than 3 Months|url=https://pdx.eater.com/2016/10/18/13325142/honky-tonk-taco-closes-se-division-shutter?_gl=1*1w5supu*|website=Eater|date=18 October 2016|accessdate=8 December 2019|archive-date=9 May 2021|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210509173623/https://pdx.eater.com/2016/10/18/13325142/honky-tonk-taco-closes-se-division-shutter?_gl=1*1w5supu*|url-status=live}} The location had an outdoor patio, which the bar-restaurant frequently used to host events such as Oktoberfest, and in the winter hosted a Christmas tree lot.{{cite web |last1=L'Arche Portland |title=Volunteer at the L'Arche Portland Christmas Tree Sale |url=https://www.idealist.org/en/volunter-opportunity/736bfa476f834d22afd82557754aac4b-volunteer-at-the-larche-portland-christmas-tree-sale-larche-portland-portland |website=Idealist |accessdate=8 December 2019 |archive-date=8 December 2019 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191208002325/https://www.idealist.org/en/volunter-opportunity/736bfa476f834d22afd82557754aac4b-volunteer-at-the-larche-portland-christmas-tree-sale-larche-portland-portland |url-status=live }}{{cite news |title=Oktoberfest! |url=https://www.portlandmercury.com/events/22706588/oktoberfest |access-date=9 May 2021 |publisher=Portland Mercury |date=September 22, 2018 |archive-date=9 May 2021 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210509175126/https://www.portlandmercury.com/events/22706588/oktoberfest |url-status=live }} It became known as Alpenrausch,{{Cite web |last=Jackson-Glidden |first=Brooke |date=2023-11-13 |title=The New Restaurant from the Olympia Provisions Team Is a Love Letter to the Alps |url=https://pdx.eater.com/2023/11/13/23958056/olympia-provisions-alpenrausch-alpine-restaurant-opening-portland |access-date=2023-11-16 |website=Eater Portland |language=en}} which was named one of the twenty best new restaurants of 2024 by Bon Appétit.{{Cite web |last= |first= |date=2024-09-09 |title=The 20 Best New Restaurants of 2024 |url=https://www.bonappetit.com/story/best-new-restaurants-2024?fbclid=IwY2xjawFO0hNleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHWEq7KKKk3G5cQY3FaNvAxPmkGWh1uRL5TQE9dZgnIZM0CMhTV1ufeWnlw_aem_vJYoYa92y8S-GQxzbOqAuA |access-date=2024-09-11 |website=Bon Appétit |language=en-US}}
