Onaiza ({{langx|ar|عنيزة|‘Unayzah}}) is a north-eastern district of Doha, Qatar.{{cite web|url=http://www.qsa.gov.qa/eng/publication/annabs/2014/1_Population2013.pdf|title=2010 population census|publisher=Qatar Statistics Authority|access-date=29 June 2015|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150402142501/http://www.qsa.gov.qa/eng/publication/annabs/2014/1_Population2013.pdf|archive-date=2 April 2015}} It is located between Al Dafna, Qatar's emerging central business district, and Lusail, a development north of Doha which is set to hold 200,000 residents in the near future.
History
Onaiza housed Doha's first airport in the 20th century. It had a one-room terminal and a dirt landing strip.{{cite book|last=Al-Othman|first=Nasser|title=With their bare hands : the story of the oil industry in Qatar|publisher=Longman Group|year=1984|page=7|isbn=0582783755}}
The district has mostly developed in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a result of its proximity to Doha's new business district and its relative distance from the more congested centre of the city. Government officials have focused their efforts on developing Onaiza as northern Doha's new foreign embassy district.{{cite journal|url=http://www.qscience.com/doi/10.5339/connect.2017.qgbc.2|title=Scaling down planning in Doha towards the neighborhood and its public realm|author=Dena Qaddumi & Ameena Ahmadi|journal=QScience Connect|volume=2017|issue=1|series=Special Issue on Shaping Qatar's Sustainable Built Environment|date=28 April 2017|access-date=22 July 2018}} The Embassy of India, Doha, which represents Qatar's largest nationality group, is based in this neighborhood.{{cite web|url=http://www.gulf-times.com/story/499430/Indian-embassy-premises-at-Onaiza-to-open-on-Monda|title=Indian embassy premises at Onaiza to open on Monday|publisher=Gulf Times|date=26 June 2016|access-date=22 July 2018}}
