History

The conference was initially inspired when Paul Cain, a former associate of International House of Prayer leadership, had a spiritual experience in which he saw thousands of young people gathering in Kansas City. The attendees numbered over 25,000 in 2010. Most attendees are young adults.{{cite news|last=Szczepanski|first=Carolyn|title=IHOPers converge to discuss the end of the world|url=http://blogs.pitch.com/plog/2008/12/ihopers_converge_to_discuss_th.php|accessdate=10 February 2011|newspaper=The Pitch|date=31 December 2008|location=Kansas City, MO}}
