=Critical reception=

In his review of "Sleeping with an Angel", Larry Flick from Billboard wrote, "Here is a total change of pace from the act's previous Euro-NRG hits. Cruising at a chilled pop/hip hop pace, the track's instrumental arrangement combines delicate piano lines with a rubbery bassline and diamond-hard beat. The vocals are also an exercise in contrast, as mournful rapping is surrounded by dreamy, harmonic vocals at the chorus. Single has a wintery vibe that will likely play well with the act's fans at top 40 and crossover formats."{{cite magazine|first=Larry|last=Flick|title=Reviews & Previews: Singles|url=https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-All-Music/Billboard/90s/1996/BB-1996-01-27.pdf|magazine=Billboard|date=27 January 1996|page=106|accessdate=22 November 2022|author-link=Larry Flick}}

Dave Sholin from the Gavin Report said about "Ooh Boy": "The Class of '96 were babies when Rose Royce charted with this song in 1978. The Real McCoy works their magic and makes it fresh again. Uptempo and definitely radio friendly."{{cite magazine|first= Dave |last= Sholin |title= Gavin Picks > Singles |magazine= Gavin Report |issue= 2102 |date= 26 April 1996 |page= 62 |access-date= 16 April 2018 |url= http://americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Gavin-Report/90/96/Gavin-1996-04-26.pdf}} Rachel Cohen from The Heights noted that it "is a fusion of techno with an almost Pop Rock, Paula Abdul sound. It takes the well used line, {{'}}Ooh Boy I love you so, never ever gonna let you go, once I get my hands on you{{'}}, and puts it in a brand new context, and the novel creation works well."{{cite news|first1= Rachel |last1= Cohen |url= https://newspapers.bc.edu/cgi-bin/bostonsh?a=d&d=bcheights19950403.2.78 |title= Sober forecast for Seattle superband Mad Season |newspaper= The Heights |page= 28 |date= 3 April 1995 |access-date= 15 March 2020}} People Magazine said that "group leader Olaf Jeglitza broods like a rapping cowpoke stuck in a tacky rhinestone-studded suit" on "Sleeping With An Angel".{{cite magazine|url= https://people.com/archive/picks-and-pans-review-another-night-vol-43-no-16/ |title= Picks and Pans Review: Another Night |magazine= People |date= 24 April 1995 |access-date= 13 November 2020}} Mark Frith from Smash Hits described "Ooh Boy" as "sugary pop".{{cite magazine|first=Mark|last=Frith|url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/57779449@N02/54283337056/in/album-72177720323357062|title=New Albums|work=
