Operator was an extension for the Mozilla Firefox web browser.{{cite web|url=http://blog.mozilla.com/faaborg/2006/12/16/microformats-part-3-introducing-operator/|title=Microformats - Part 3: Introducing Operator|last=Faaborg|first=Alex|date=December 16, 2006|accessdate=2009-02-03|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20090202104734/http://blog.mozilla.com/faaborg/2006/12/16/microformats-part-3-introducing-operator/|archivedate=February 2, 2009}}{{cite web|url=http://microformats.org/wiki/firefox-extensions|title=Firefox Extensions|publisher=microformats.org|accessdate=2009-02-03}} It parses and acts upon a number of microformats,{{cite web|url=https://open.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/12/05/the-magical-minimalism-of-microformats/|title=The Magical Minimalism of Microformats|last=Harris|first=Jacob|date=2007-12-05|work=New York Times|accessdate=2009-02-03}} as well as validating them.
Operator lets the user access microformats through a number of methods, all of which are optional: a toolbar, a toolbar button, a status bar icon, a location bar icon, or a sidebar.
It has native support for several microformats:

- hCard (contact/ address information){{cite web|url=http://blog.mapquest.com/2008/09/25/microformat-support-on-mapquest-local/|title=Microformat Support on MapQuest Local|date=2008-09-25|publisher=MapQuest|accessdate=2009-02-03|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090218151220/http://blog.mapquest.com/2008/09/25/microformat-support-on-mapquest-local/|archive-date=2009-02-18|url-status=dead}}
- hCalendar (events)
- Geo (geographic coordinates)
- rel-tag
