Ornithacris Uvarov BP (1924) Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. 9 13: 9. is a genus of grasshoppers in the subfamily Cyrtacanthacridinae.[http://orthoptera.speciesfile.org/Common/basic/Taxa.aspx?TaxonNameID=1112658 Orthoptera Species File (Version 5.0/5.0: retrieved 7 March 2020)] These are large insects, recognisable by their brightly coloured wings when caught: although they are difficult to catch being strong fliers.
