Oxalate chloride

An oxalate chloride or oxalato chloride is a mixed anion compound contains both oxalate and chloride anions.

Related compounds include oxalate fluorides and oxalate bromides.{{Cite journal |last1=Lugwisha |first1=E. H. J. |last2=Mulokozi |first2=A. M. |last3=Masabo |first3=M. K. Production

Oxalate chlorides may be produced by treating an oxalate salt with concentrated hydrochloric acid, or with a metal oxide dissolved in oxalic acid and hydrochloric acid solutions that are evaporated.{{Cite journal |last=Mulokozi |first=A.M. |date=June 1972 |title=The nature of products obtained from the reaction of hydrogen halides with some rare-earth metal oxalate hydrates |url=https://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/0022508872900756 |journal=Journal of the Less Common Metals |language=en |volume=27 |issue=3 |pages=419–422 |doi=10.1016/0022-5088(72)90075-6}}
