PSLV-C28 (a.k.a. DMC3 mission) was the 29th consecutive successful mission (overall 30th) of the PSLV program. The PSLV-C28 carried and successfully deployed 5 satellites in the Sun-synchronous orbit. With a launch mass of {{convert|320000|kg|lbs}} and payload mass of payload mass {{convert|1440|kg|lbs}}, the C28 was the heaviest commercial mission undertaken by the Indian Space Research Organisation and Antrix Corporation. The PSLV-C28 carried three identical optical Earth observation satellites (DMC3-1, DMC3-2 & DMC3-3), an optical Earth observation technology demonstrator microsatellite (CBNT-1), and an experimental nanosatellite (De-orbitSail). All the satellites were built by Surrey Satellite Technology (SSTL). Although built by SSTL, the "De-orbitSail" belonged to the Surrey Space Centre.{{cite news|title=PSLV-C28 / DMC3 Mission|publisher=ISRO website|accessdate=7 Jun 2016|url=http://www.isro.gov.in/launcher/pslv-c28-dmc3-mission}}{{cite news|title=Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle|publisher=Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre website|accessdate=7 Jun 2016|url=http://www.vssc.gov.in/VSSC_V4/index.php/launchers/launchers-pslv}}{{cite news|title=DMC 3-FM3|publisher=NASA website|accessdate=7 Jun 2016|url=https://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/nmc/spacecraft/display.action?id=2015-032C}}{{cite news|title=Carbonite 1|publisher=NASA website|accessdate=7 Jun 2016|url=https://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/nmc/spacecraft/display.action?id=2015-032D}}{{cite news|title=ISRO successfully Launches PSLV-C28 carrying 5 UK satellites|work=The Times of India|accessdate=7 Jun 2016|url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Isro-successfully-launches-PSLV-C28-carrying-5-UK-satellites/articleshow/48023816.cms}}{{cite news|title=10 things you should know about PSLV-C28|publisher=scoopwhoop.com|accessdate=7 Jun 2016|url=http://www.scoopwhoop.com/inothernews/isro-pslv-c28-satellite-launch/}}
