Pablo Coira Lojo (born 18 October 1979) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played mainly as a right-back.
Career
After starting playing football with local SD Compostela, in the Segunda División, Coira joined Galicia giants RC Celta de Vigo in 1999, appearing sparingly throughout four La Liga seasons (maximum 18 league games in 2001–02).{{cite news|url=https://www.lavozdegalicia.es/noticia/gradario/2019/10/18/exceltico-pablo-coira-cumple/00031571394167741825468.htm|title=Tal día como hoy nació Pablo Coira|trans-title=Pablo Coira was born on a day like today|newspaper=La Voz de Galicia|language=es|date=18 October 2019|access-date=25 April 2025}}{{cite news|url=https://www.farodevigo.es/arousa/2020/12/13/segunda-vida-futbolistica-campeon-mundo-26242588.html|title=Pablo Coira, la segunda vida futbolística de un campeón del mundo|trans-title=Pablo Coira, the second footballing life of a world champion|newspaper=Faro de Vigo|first=Diego|last=Doval|language=es|date=13 December 2020|access-date=25 April 2025}} Shortly before signing, he represented Spain at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship, winning the tournament; also in the squad was his teammate Pablo Couñago, who was crowned the competition's top scorer.{{cite news|url=http://www.marca.com/2009/04/17/futbol/seleccion/1239983100.html|title=Qué fue de los campeones del mundo sub20|trans-title=What happened to the under-20 world champions|newspaper=Marca|first=Miguel Ángel|last=García|language=es|date=17 April 2009|access-date=3 May 2017}}
Subsequently, Coira had unassuming stints with Deportivo Alavés – playing no matches in his final year, which ended in top-flight relegation, after falling out with chairman Dmitry Piterman, and being loaned to Recreativo de Huelva in between – and Greek club Aris Thessaloniki FC. He returned to Spain in January 2007 with UE Figueres in the Segunda División B, named UE Casteldefells shortly after.{{cite news|url=https://as.com/futbol/2005/08/26/mas_futbol/1125037657_850215.html|title=Pablo Coira volvió a entrenarse con el equipo|trans-title=Pablo Coira trained with the team again|newspaper=Diario AS|first=M.|last=Oraá|language=es|date=26 August 2005|access-date=25 April 2025}}{{cite news|url=https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/alaves/20161119/411983590703/pellegrino-alaves-espanyol-gol-de-coro-descenso.html|title=Pellegrino no se olvida del 'gol de Coro'|trans-title=Pellegrino does not forget 'Coro's goal'|newspaper=Mundo Deportivo|language=es|date=19 November 2016|access-date=25 April 2025}}{{cite news|url=https://www.mundodeportivo.com/seleccion-espanola/20190424/461783664455/que-fue-de-los-18-campeones-en-nigeria-1999.html|title=¿Qué fue de los 18 campeones en Nigeria-1999?|trans-title=What happened to the 18 champions in Nigeria-1999?|newspaper=Mundo Deportivo|first=Àxel|last=Aguilar|language=es|date=24 April 2019|access-date=25 April 2025}}
