The Pacte Progressista ({{langx|en|Progressive Pact}}, Pacte), officially the Pacte Progressista d'Eivissa ({{langx|en|Progressive Pact of Ibiza}}),Stewart, I. Previously, it had contested the 1996 Senate election in the Ibiza–Formentera constituency as Eivissa i Formentera al Senat ({{langx|en|Ibiza and Formentera in the Senate}}), and it would also contest the 2000 Senate election as the Pacte per Eivissa i Formentera ({{langx|en|Pact for Ibiza and Formentera}}).{{cite web |url=http://www.eeif.es/veus/Eivissa-i-Formentera-al-Senat/ |title=Eivissa i Formentera al Senat |language=Spanish |website=eeif.es |publisher=L'Enciclopèdia d'Eivissa i Formentera |access-date=19 March 2019}}{{cite web |url=http://www.eeif.es/veus/Pacte-Progressista/ |title=Pacte Progressista |language=Spanish |website=eeif.es |publisher=L'Enciclopèdia d'Eivissa i Formentera |access-date=19 March 2019}}

The alliance would be reestablished as "Eivissa i Formentera al Senat" ahead of the 2023 Spanish general election with PSOE, Sumar, EU and Ara Eivissa as its components.{{cite news |date=9 June 2023 |url=https://www.noudiari.es/local-ibiza/eivissa-i-formentera-al-senat-coalicio-de-les-forces-progressistes-per-guanyar-les-eleccions/ |title=‘Eivissa i Formentera al Senat’, coalició de les forces progressistes "per guanyar les eleccions" |language=ca |newspaper=Nou Diari |access-date=9 June 2023}}{{cite news |agency=Agencias |date=9 June 2023 |url=https://www.lavanguardia.com/local/baleares/20230609/9031140/psoe-sumar-esquerra-unida-ara-eivissa-concurriran-proximo-23j-coalicion-senado-ibiza-formentera.html |title=PSOE, Sumar, Esquerra Unida y Ara Eivissa concurrirán el próximo 23J en coalición al Senado por Ibiza y Formentera |language=es |newspaper=La Vanguardia |location=Ibiza |access-date=9 June 2023}}

Background

Ahead of the 1996 general election, Ibiza and Formentera only elected one senator to the Spanish Cortes. The disunity of the nationalist and left-of-centre forces always meant that the senator was won by right-of-centre parties. As a result, the Pact was meant as a unitary candidacy of all left parties, obtaining a great electoral success by winning the senator from the People's Party.
