It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Pakosławice.{{TERYT}} It lies approximately {{convert|7|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} north of Nysa and {{convert|44|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} west of the regional capital Opole.
