== History ==
The park was built during the 1840s and was designed by Hans Ditlev Franciscus Linstow, who was the main architect of the palace. Two thousand trees were planted in 1848, but since then the park has been redeveloped several times, becoming simpler with larger but fewer paths and fewer creeks.{{cite web |url=http://www.kongehuset.no/c75283/artikkel/vis.html?tid=75285 |title=Slottsparken |author=Royal Palace |accessdate=30 October 2009 |language=Norwegian |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20101227121326/http://www.kongehuset.no/c75283/artikkel/vis.html?tid=75285 |archive-date=27 December 2010 |url-status=dead }}
Queen's Park forms a separate part of Palace Park, and dates back to 1751 when it was built as a private rococo garden.{{Cite web|url=http://www.kongehuset.no/seksjon.html?tid=99668&sek=99667|title=Slottsparken|website=www.kongehuset.no|language=no|access-date=2019-09-18}}
