Palaeomyrmidon is an extinct genus of anteater. Its closest living relative is the silky anteater (Cyclopes didactylus).{{cite web|title=Palaeomyrmidon|url=https://paleobiodb.org/classic/checkTaxonInfo?taxon_no=83038|publisher=Paleontology Database|access-date=2014-10-26}} Although the silky anteater is arboreal, Palaeomyrmidon lived on the ground.
