Parastichy, in phyllotaxy, is the spiral pattern of particular plant organs on some plants, such as areoles on cacti stems, florets in sunflower heads and scales in pine cones.{{cite book|title=Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary|publisher=C. & G.
