- Parophidion schmidti (Woods & Kanazawa, 1951) (Dusky cusk-eel) - western Atlantic Bermuda to northern South America.
- Parophidion vassali (A. Risso, 1810) - Mediterranean and adjacent areas of the eastern Atlantic.
