Parsix GNU/Linux was a live-CD Linux distribution based on Debian. The Parsix project's goal was to provide a ready-to-use, easy-to-install, desktop and laptop-optimized operating system based on Debian's testing branch and the latest stable release of GNOME.{{cite web|title=Parsix GNU/Linux|url=http://www.parsix.org/wiki/WikiStart|website=Parsix GNU/Linux Project|access-date=2016-05-17|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160510014553/http://www.parsix.org/wiki/WikiStart|archive-date=2016-05-10|url-status=dead}} It was possible to install extra software packages from the project's own APT repositories.{{Cite web |url=http://www.parsix.org/wiki/Apt |title=Parsix Apt Repositories |access-date=2011-04-08 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170903073628/http://www.parsix.org/wiki/Apt |archive-date=2017-09-03 |url-status=dead }}

Receptions
DistroWatch Weekly reviewed Parsix 1.5r1 in 2008:[https://distrowatch.com/weekly.php?issue=20080804#feature DistroWatch Weekly, Issue 264, 04 Aug 2008]
{{blockquote|Parsix is a nice solid little distro, but I'm finding it difficult to list one hard compelling reason why someone should switch to it. If you prefer the Persian language and keyboard, then Parsix is definitely for you. If you'd like a nice Debian derivative with a pretty GNOME desktop that works good, comes in one CD, and uses APT/Synaptic, then perhaps give Parsix a try.}}
LinuxBSDos wrote the review of Parsix 3.0r2:{{Cite web |url=http://linuxbsdos.com/2010/02/12/parsix-3-0-r-2-review/ |title=Parsix 3.0r2 review {{!}} LinuxBSDos.com |access-date=2018-08-11 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180811095828/http://linuxbsdos.com/2010/02/12/parsix-3-0-r-2-review/ |archive-date=2018-08-11 |url-status=dead }}
{{blockquote|This is clearly a negative review, and at some level, I’m hoping that someone will prove to me that this review is completely off the mark. I’m waiting.}}
