Patrice Pike is an American singer-songwriter. She was the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the Austin, Texas-based rock band Sister 7. The band produced three independent and three major label albums, and has toured in the U.S. and Western Europe.
Early life
Pike was born in Dallas. Her stepfather was a touring guitarist. The first instrument she learned to play was the violin, which she learned via the Suzuki method.{{cite news|title=After Supernova, still burning bright|url=https://www.newspapers.com/article/the-santa-fe-new-mexican-after-supernova/169775213/|newspaper=The Santa Fe New Mexican|date=November 24, 2006|first=David|last=Prince|page=76 of Lastiempo magazine section}} She attended Booker T. Career
Pike has written songs including "My Three Wishes" and "Nobody Knows", the latter having ranked amongst the top ten in a global songwriting competition. Her song "Unraveling" received an honorable mention in the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest in 2005.
In 2006, Pike was a competitor on the musical competition series Rock Star: Supernova, lasting until the eighth week of competition. The show gave her a chance to play her original song "Beautiful Thing" for the TV audience, but it also distracted her from the mixing of her album Unraveling.
Pike has continued to play with Sister 7's lead guitarist Wayne Sutton. Together they have released several studio and live albums. In 2017 they founded a new musical project, Pike and Sutton, which released the album Heart Is a Compass in April 2020.{{cite magazine |last1=Graff |first1=Gary |title=Pike & Sutton Look to a Better Future With 'Together': Premiere |url=https://www.billboard.com/music/rock/pike-sutton-together-premiere-8550948/ |access-date=7 April 2025 |magazine=Billboard |date=13 February 2020}} They played Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2019.{{cite news |title=Pike & Sutton |url=https://www.missingpiecegroup.com/pikeandsutton |access-date=7 April 2025 |work=Missing Piece Group}}
