In the summer of 2007, he had trials at Internazionale, Monza, and AC Milan. Cutrone joined Fiorentina on an 18-month loan deal on 10 January 2020. On 7 January 2021, Cutrone was recalled by Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, despite making four appearances within three weeks at the club, Cutrone was once again sent on loan at the end of the month.

He made his debut with the Italy U21 team on 1 September 2017, in a friendly match lost 3–0 against Spain.
