Patrick Irwin

Patrick Irwin (1839 - February 6, 1910) was an Irish-American soldier who received a Medal of Honor for his action in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Irwin served as a First Sergeant in Company H of the 14th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment.{{Cite web|title=Patrick Irwin {{!}} U.S. Civil War {{!}} U.S. Army {{!}} Medal of Honor Recipient|url=https://www.cmohs.org/recipients/patrick-irwin|access-date=2021-10-26|website=Congressional Medal of Honor Society|language=en}} He earned his medal for actions during the Battle of Jonesboro, Georgia on September 1, 1864.{{Cite web|title=Patrick Irwin - victoriacross|url=http://www.vconline.org.uk/patrick-irwin/4593438601|access-date=2021-10-26|website=www.vconline.org.uk}} Irwin attained the rank of first lieutenant before mustering out after the war.
