Peerless SC scripted history in 2020, as they became the only club outside Kolkata's "Big Three" (Mohun Bagan AC, East Bengal FC, and Mohammedan Sporting) to win the Championship in 61 years; Eastern Railway did the same back in 1958.{{cite news|url=https://olympics.com/en/news/calcutta-football-league-history-winners-list |title=Calcutta Football League: East Bengal kings of Asia's oldest league competition — full winners list |website=olympics.com |publisher=The Olympics Football |last1=Nag |first1=Utathya |date=19 April 2023 |access-date=25 April 2023 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230505071647/https://olympics.com/en/news/calcutta-football-league-history-winners-list |archive-date=5 May 2023 }}{{cite news|title=জহর দাসের বাড়ি|language=bn|trans-title=The House of Jahar Das|publisher=এই সময় সংবাদপত্র|url=https://eisamay.com/sports/cricket/news/jewel-slaves-body/articleshow/71364627.cms|access-date=28 January 2016|website=eisamay.com|date=16 May 2016|archive-date=28 July 2023|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20230728104733/https://eisamay.com/sports/cricket/news/jewel-slaves-body/articleshow/71364627.cms|location=Kolkata}}
