History

Pennfield Ridge's parish was founded by the Quakers in 1786 and named for William Penn (1644-1718), founder of Pennsylvania.{{Cite book|last=Hamilton|first=William|title=The Macmillan Book of Canadian Place Names|publisher=Macmillan|year=1978|isbn=0-7715-9754-1|location=Toronto|pages=82}}
Pennfield Ridge was the location of RCAF/RAF Station Pennfield Ridge.
