{{Ancient Egyptian religion}}
In Egyptian mythology, Petbe was the god of revenge, worshipped in the area around Akhmim, in central Egypt.{{Cite web|url=http://www.thewhitegoddess.co.uk/divinity_of_the_day/egyptian/petbe.asp|title=Petbe - God of Revenge|access-date=2016-10-27|archive-date=2015-03-07|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20150307180633/http://www.thewhitegoddess.co.uk/divinity_of_the_day/egyptian/petbe.asp|url-status=dead}} His name translates as Sky-Ba, roughly meaning "Soul of the Sky", or "Mood of the sky". However, Petbe may be a Chaldean deity introduced by immigrant workers from the Levant, with his name being a corruption of the hybrid phrase Pet-(Ba'al), meaning "Lord of the sky". Early Christians compared Petbe to the Greek god Cronus.
