Peter Hinton {{Post-nominals|country=UK|FSA|FRSA|FSAScot|MCIfA}} is a British archaeologist and the current Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.[https://www.theguardian.com/society/2003/dec/03/housingpolicy.guardiansocietysupplement "Time sensitive"]. The Guardian, Chris Wheal, 3 December 2003 Before working for the IfA he worked for the Museum of London Archaeology Service originally as a volunteer field archaeologist and eventually specialising as a post excavation manager.
